Fresh faces arrived at the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department on Tuesday.

Sheriff Steve Tanner said two new deputies are joining their ranks – Josh Humphrey, a former physical fitness trainer, will be charged with guarding prisoners at the Judicial Annex.

Another new deputy, Brian White, was sworn-in at the courthouse on Tuesday.

"I hope that I bring a lot of compassion and a lot of hard work. The things I've been about my whole life, things I've stood for. I want to promote that as well as protect and serve the community," said White.

White will complete a year of training before taking on patrols. He comes to the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department after more than a decade of service as a pastor of a Raleigh County church.
