BLUEFIELD -

As we approach the fall season getting a flu shot should be on your to do list.

And the Princeton Community Hospital is making that a lot easier.

They will be giving flu shots starting today until October 10th from 6 in the morning till 6 at night.

The shots will be free for anyone under 12 years old.

And shots are always available at the Mercer County Health Department.. and they said its never too early to get vaccinated.

"On a day like today we won't get a lot, but on a rainy day we get a lot of people in. It's the way we think, we don't worry about sick on a sunny day but we worry about getting sick on a cold day," Melody Rickman, Mercer County Health Dept. said.

The shot takes about two weeks to become effective and will ramp up your immune system to take on the FLU that you might be exposed to during this season.

Most people are immunized before the holidays, but the season really peaks in January or February.
