Emergency responders were called to the scene of a train accident on Monday, May 20. A person was apparently hit by a CSX train in a remote part of Fayette County. The call came in at around 1:30 p.m.
The victim was apparently covering her head with a blanket to shelter from the heavy rain storms.

A West Virginia senator who's long pushed parents, coaches and communities to help protect young athletes from concussions is now sponsoring federal legislation to set safety standards for helmets.

Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin say they're talking to the National Security Agency and the Navy in hopes of sparing a Pendleton County military facility from budget cuts.
The National Information Operations Command is tucked away in remote Sugar Grove and employs 330 people.
In July, the NSA announced plans to downsize its mission in an agency-wide realignment of personnel and resources.
Rockefeller said Thursday he's trying to get more specifics. He's asked military officials to visit Sugar Grove in person to understand its importance to the region and national defense.
Budgets are tight everywhere, Rockefeller says. But he says people who work at Sugar Grove have helped keep the country safe, and he'll keep fighting for them.
The Navy has had a presence in Sugar Grove since 1955
