Rapid action by the West Virginia State Police has lead to the arrest of three people in connection to a home invasion that happened on Monday, Oct. 1.

On Tuesday, Oct. 2 Donald Scott Wills, 44, who is a former Smithers Police Officer was arrested by officers with the Smithers Police Department.  He was charged with robbery at that time.  State Police said the robbery charge has since been dropped, but more appropriate charges are being filed that, according to State Police, will better reflect his involvement.

The investigation lead State Troopers to Don Naylor, 48, and Michael Scarbro, 29, both of Smithers who were arrested on Thursday, Oct. 4.  The men were charged with robbery, burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony.

All three men are being held in the Southern Regional Jail on $100,000 bond each.  Wills has an additional bond of $50,000.
