It's no secret Southern West Virginia has a connect to the famous Hollywood Boat the S. S. Minnow.
Bob Denver, also known as Gilligan from Gilligan's Island was married to Mercer County native, Dreama Denver until his death in 2005.
And now Dreama is stepping into the spotlight sharing their story.
Hitting the shelves is Dreama 's first book, a memoir called "Gilligan's Dreams" and she says this shows the PERSONAL side of funny man Bob Denver and their marriage.
"Mine really is the personal story. It was hard. Writing a memoir you hear you have to go back and relive it and those words were true in a way I didn't even understand it," Dreama Denver, Author said.
The book chronicles the last 21 years of Bob's life.
She said it tells how they dealt with the challenges of raising and autistic son and after Bob's death how she is finding the strength to move forward.
