BURLINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -

The future of the Burlington Post Office could be decided next month.

The News Tribune (http://bit.ly/OOVYIv) reports that the U.S. Postal Service has scheduled a public meeting Nov. 8 to consider four options for future postal operations for the Mineral County office.

Among the options are keeping the office open under reduced operating hours, or shutting down the Burlington Post Office and shifting services to a nearby post office.

The postal service said no decision on the post office will be made until after the Nov. 8 meeting.

The Postal Service ended its most recent fiscal quarter with a net loss of $5.2 billion. It has been losing money as customers use the Internet in increasing numbers to do business instead of using the mail.
