911 dispatchers confirm a stabbing has occurred at the Beckley Plaza on Friday. It happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday. No word on the victims and the conditions of the victims. The Beckley Police Department
A man is being hailed a hero in Raleigh County. A tattoo parlor owner saved a pregnant woman Friday night when her ex-boyfriend tried to kill her and her baby inside of the Beckley Plaza mall.
A man featured on 59News Fugitive File earlier this year, remains on the run.
Teddy Schmelter, 36, is wanted by Raleigh County Sheriff's deputies on felony escape charges.
He was on home confinement, but walked away on Tuesday, May 29.
Schmelter was originally charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
Deputies say he is about 5-feet, 9-inches tall and 170 pounds.
Schmelter has blonde hair and blue eyes.
