PRINCETON -

More than 10-percent of the indictments out of the October Grand Jury session in Mercer County were related to murder or attempted murder.

At the top of the list was a case that sparked an Amber Alert across West Virginia.  Tracy Lee Atwell, 38, of Rock was indicted for First Degree Murder, First Degree Robbery and Abduction of a Child by a Family Member.  Atwell allegedly killed his wife Christina.  Police say he then tied up his parents, stole their car and kidnapped his  8-year-old daughter Porshia.  Atwell was arrested on Saturday, April 14.

Lorenzo Christopher Barnes was indicted on charges of First Degree Murder and First Degree Robbery.  Those charges stem from the murder of Jason Hicks in the parking lot of the Pentacost Chapel of Praise back on Feb. 2.

Tammy Keen, 39, and Thomas Hall, 38 and Chad Hylton were indicted on First Degree Murder, First Degree Robbery and Conspiracy.  The three are charged with the murder of Timothy DeWitt on March 13, 2011.  The body was discovered near the Bluestone Bridge.  Keen and Hall were picked up in August 2012.

Gerald Little, 60, was indicted on First Degree Murder, Burglary and First Degree Robbery charges. He is accused of killing Jerry Buckner, 57, on March 1.  Little allegedly stabbed Buckner to death.

Michael Tavolacci was indicted on a laundry list of charges in connection to an incident in Bluefield back in April.  He is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Arson, Illegal Possession of an Incendiary Device, Wanton Endangerment, Bringing Stolen Property in the State, Transferring Stolen Property and Conspiracy.  Police said that Tavolacci and his wife Shannon fired shots into a home on Kirby Edition Road in Bluefield.  Shannon Tavolacci was indicted on charges of Wanton Endangerment, Conspiracy, Bringing Stolen Property into the State and Transferring Stolen Property.
