Lilly Earns Second WVIAC Weekly Honor

A career-day by Jake Lilly led to the junior linebacker being named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday, as announced by the league office. The award is Lilly's second WVIAC honor of the season.

In Concord's 21-13 loss at Liberty, a Division I FCS school, Lilly made a career-high 18 tackles. The Bluefield, W. Va. native made 12 solo stops while assisting on six other tackles. Lilly also recorded 0.5 tackles for a loss.

For the season, Lilly has 92 tackles 11 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, 0.5 sacks and four pass break-ups. He has recorded at least nine tackles in a game in six out of seven contests this year. Lilly heads into this week's game vs. Fairmont State leading the WVIAC and ranking sixth in the nation in total tackles.

In 29 games at Concord, Lilly has tallied 225 tackles (7.8 per game).

Concord, which is 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the WVIAC this year, begins a two-game homestand 1:00 p.m. Saturday vs. Fairmont State.
