The West Virginia Judiciary website has added a temporary page to its website to check for courthouse closures because of severe weather.

The courthouse closures page can be found in the News & Publications section at courtswv.gov and it will be continually updated, according to a news release from the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia.

The Chief Judge of a circuit can order an emergency closure of the courts in that circuit, including circuit courts, magistrate courts, circuit clerk's offices, magistrate clerk's offices and probation offices.

Magistrates will be on their holiday/weekend schedules during any weather-related closures.

As of 4 p.m. Oct. 29, schedules had been altered for courts in Berkeley, Greenbrier, Jefferson, Mercer, Pocahontas, Preston and Randolph counties.

The direct link to the court closure page is http://courtswv.gov/public-resources/press/court-closures.html.
