Two-Day Toughman Competition Begins

FAIRLEA -

Friday is the night for all those hot-headed men who want to blow off some steam inside a boxing ring to show off their aggression.

The two day Toughman Competition is being held Friday and Saturday night at the State Fairgrounds in Fairlea.

Organizers say the crowd loves to see controlled violence inside the ring, but they do still keep it safe for the fighters.

Toughman Event Planner Allan Parker said, "For a guy in the ring, you're wearing 16oz gloves, professional boxers wear 8oz so you have double the protection and they wear big head gear so we don't want anyone to get hurt hurt but we want to let you know... you've been in a fight!"

The fights started Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is 20 dollars and Parker said there are still plenty of seats open for the two day event.
