The search is on for a suspect after a Beckley man is shot in the head.

It happened at 9:30p.m. Monday, on Hartley Avenue.

According to police, the victim was taken to an area hospital and then to Charleston Area Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

Police told 59News they are looking for a black man in connection to this case.

He was wearing a red jacket at the time of the shooting Monday night.

Capt. Jeff Shumate with the Beckley Police Dept said the victim and the man who shot him were in a fight before the shooting occurred.

This victim's name is not being released at this time.
