Greenbrier Resort Gives Books to Kids In Hospitals

WHITE SULFUR SPRINGS -

This year, The Greenbrier is partnering with Paws2Care to donate more than 1,750 copies of the children's book, Beamer Visits the Emergency Room, along with "Beamer" stuffed animals, to be given to children who wake up in emergency rooms in the Inova Hospital network on Christmas morning.

2012 marks the second year that The Greenbrier, the historic American resort that has been a holiday destination for decades, will be holding its "Create a Dream Tree for Kids" holiday gift drive, which will donate more than $1 million in toys to charity.

All gifts and proceeds will go towards the purchase of toys for children in need. Charitable organizations can register online before December 1, 2012 to request consideration.

For those who wish to donate items for the charity drive, The Greenbrier has provided three options for guests:

  • Purchase an item for the "Dream Tree" from Fizzy's Land of Oz at The Greenbrier.
  • Donate a new, unwrapped toy at any of the resort's retail shops.
  • Give a donation in the form of cash or a personal check (made payable to "Old White Charities") at the Front Desk.

For those who wish to help wrap gifts, please e-mail dreamtreeforkids@greenbrier.com with the date, time and names of those wishing to help.

All donations must be received by December 12, 2012 and all are tax-deductible.
