Firefighters Discover Body in Early Morning House Fire

SPRAGUE -

Fire crews dealt with a blaze in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Nov. 27.  A house on Ewart Avenue in Sprague went up in flames, leaving one person dead.

The fire was reported around 1:30 a.m. at a home located on the backside of New River Park.  Crews from Beaver, Mabscott, and Beckley battled the blaze for several hours.

When they first arrived on scene, there were reports that their were possibly two people in the home. Once the flames were finally extinguished, one body was found.

The West Virginia Fire Marshal was on the scene by the time the sun came up.  The State Medical Examiner was also called in.
