National Academic Preparedness Seminar Kicks off in WV

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -

A national education organization is holding a symposium in Charleston on academic preparedness.

Monday's symposium is 1 of 7 being held around the country by the National Assessment for Education Progress 12th Grade Preparedness Commission.

The NAEP produces the annual Nation's Report Card.

Commission chairman Ronnie Musgrove says West Virginia is hosting 1 of the symposiums because it's been a leader in education reform and in using student achievement data from the report card.
