Copper theft suspected in Logan Co. man's death

OMAR, W.Va. (AP) -

State police say a Logan County man apparently was trying to steal copper wire when he was electrocuted.

Searchers found the body of 28-year-old James David Marcum Jr. on Saturday morning near downed power lines on a hilltop near his home in Omar. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Marcum was reported missing Friday evening.

Trooper J.E. Garren tells media outlets that investigators believe Marcum wasn't alone when he was electrocuted. The investigation is continuing.
