Five-Hour Forest Fire

A forest fire that broke in McDowell County is brought under control in five hours.

The West Virginia Division of Forestry tells 59News that the fire which broke out at around 5 p.m. on Sunday evening in the Northfork area was out by 10 p.m. the same night.  Officials gave credit to the efforts by the Northfork Volunteer Fire Department for the ability to get the blaze under control so quickly.
