Hurricane Sandy disaster aid conferences held in WV

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -

On Tuesday, Dec. 4 and the Thursday, Dec. 6 the 18 West Virginia Counties that are eligible to receive federal help will learn the details on the application process.

The briefings will be done through the use of information technology.  Webinars with video over the Internet and audio through a telephone conference call will be held twice on Tuesday and two more on Thursday.  The idea is to eliminate the need for officials to gather in a central location.

The briefs will cover how to apple and what expenses or eligible for reimbursement.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency covers 75-percent of the costs.  The State will pick up the rest.

Here is a look at the schedule for each county:

Tuesday at 10 a.m. Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Clay and Fayette Counties
Tuesday at 2 p.m. City of Charleston, Kanawha, Lewis, Nicholas and Pendleton Counties
Thursday at 10 a.m. Pocahontas, Preston, Raleigh, Randolph and Taylor Counties

Thursday, at 2 p.m.

Tucker, Upshur, Webster and Wyoming Counties.
