    Emergency responders were called to the scene of a train accident on Monday, May 20.  A person was apparently hit by a CSX train in a remote part of Fayette County.  The call came in at around 1:30 p.m.
    The victim was apparently covering her head with a blanket to shelter from the heavy rain storms.

Officials are reminding West Virginia residents who had losses during the summer storms that they have only two more weeks to apply for federal assistance.

Dec. 19 is the deadline to apply to FEMA for grants the help with temporary housing, home repair, medical, funeral, or dental expenses, property loss, or other disaster-related expenses.

Residents of Boone, Cabell, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Roane, Tyler, Webster and Wood counties are eligible. They can apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362
