LEWISBURG -

Police in Lewisburg are instrumental in getting a man wanted by the FBI off the streets.

Dwayne Anthony Smiley, 48, of Detroit, Michigan was picked up on Dec. 6 at 11:30 p.m.  Patrolman E.D. Shaver with the Lewisburg Police Department pulled Smiley over for a traffic violation.  During the routine checks it was discovered that Smiley was wanted in Maryland by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  He is a suspect in three armed robberies at banks in the Maryland area.

Smiley was arrested and taken to the Southern Regional Jail.  He is be arraigned by a federal magistrate.
