The West Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled eight public information meetings throughout the state to discuss the State Rail Authority's state rail plan.

Participants will be able to learn about the plan, ask questions and also express their opinions to be considered in the development of the plan.

Each meeting will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m. and will be followed with the opportunity to express comments in a workshop-style setting.

The first meeting will be Dec. 10 at the West Virginia Division of Highways District Nine Headquarters at 146 Stonehouse Road in Lewisburg.

The second meeting will take place Dec. 11 at the West Virginia Division of Highways District Two Headquarters at 801 Madison Ave. in Huntington.

Any written comments about the plan may be mailed to the West Virginia State Rail Authority at 120 Water Plan Drive, Moorefield, W.Va., 26836.
