PINEVILLE -
The case of a man who was missing from Wyoming County on Saturday and was later found dead is now being investigated as a murder by West Virginia State Police.

The body of Steven Ray Lawrence, 35, of Simon was found along Coal Mountain Road near Long Branch Hollow on Tuesday, Dec. 11.  He was last seen alive on Dec. 8 and was reported missing at Sunday, Dec. 9.

West Virginia State Police and Wyoming County Sheriff's Deputies are working together to solve the crime.  They said the death is suspicious.  Anyone with any information is urged to contact the  State Police Detachment in Jesse at (304) 682-4717 or the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department at (304) 732-8000.  Anonymous tips can also be submitted online at www.wvcrime.com.
