W.Va. governor to add 2 communities to program

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin is welcoming two new communities into an exclusive state economic growth program.

Tuesday's ceremony marks the third time since 2009 that communities have been added to the ON TRAC - or Organization and Training for Revitalization and Capacity - program. The program helps towns with community improvement and development.

Communities in the program receive training in downtown or neighborhood revitalization, planning services, scholarship and grant information, and other services. The program is a precursor to becoming a fully designated Main Street Community.

Tomblin will reveal the two communities at a ceremony at the Capitol on Tuesday.

Currently, there are 16 communities in the program.
