Concord's Hawkins to Play in S.C. All-Star College Bowl

Senior wide receiver Randall Hawkins has elected to participate in the inaugural South Carolina College All-Star Bowl according to the game's Vice President of Operations Dr. Clayton Banner.

The Bowl will be played 3:00 p.m. Saturday March 23 at Younts Stadium on the campus of North Greenville University and feature players from "Upstate South Carolina vs. Lowcountry South Carolina" according to the bowl's website. To be eligible for the bowl a player must have either played football at a South Carolina college, or have played high school football in the state and went on to play the game collegiately.

Hawkins, a native of Woodruff, S.C., earned honorable mention All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors in 2012 after a senior season in which he totaled 52 receptions, 479, and two touchdowns. He averaged 9.2 yards per catch and 53.2 yards per game. Hawkins ranked fourth in the WVIAC in receptions per game and 10th in receiving yards per game.

In two years at Concord, Hawkins played in 20 games and recorded 104 receptions for 1,069 yards and four touchdowns. Hawkins leaves Concord ranked seventh in Mountain Lion history in career receptions and 10th in career yards.

Concord finished the 2012 season with a 7-4 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the WVIAC.
