CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -
A Kanawha County man accused of killing and dismembering a co-worker has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.
Media outlets report that 60-year-old Charles March of Chesapeake entered a Kennedy plea Wednesday in Kanawha County Circuit Court. Under the Kennedy rule, a defendant doesn't admit guilt.
March told Judge Duke Bloom that he didn't intend to kill 62-year-old Kathy Goble.
Goble was last seen at a Charleston men's clothing store where she and March worked on April 4, 2010. Her remains were found buried in March's backyard in April.
Authorities say March attempted suicide in August while he was in custody at the South Central Regional Jail. He climbed onto a second-story railing and fell about 12 feet to a concrete floor.
Sentencing is set for Jan. 31.
