FAYETTE COUNTY -

The state is spending nearly 6 million dollars on road projects to support the Boy Scouts of America's new reserve in Fayette County.

Eight projects have been completed or are under way at a total cost of $15.5 million. Federal funding is paying 80 percent of the cost of six projects. Expected economic development resulting from the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve is worth the state's cost.

The projects include intersection upgrades, repairs and new roadway.
