FAYETTE COUNTY -

Shortly after two families opened their Christmas presents this morning.

One of the families garages burst into flames which caused most of two homes to burn. No one was hurt this Christmas morning and firefighters were able to save one family's dog. Both homes are temporarily uninhabitable.

Oak Hill Assistant Fire chief explains more.

"It's Christmas Eve, they had just finished opening their Christmas gifts when they heard a small explosion of some sort. They had motorcycles and stuff in the garage so investigators are going to look into that," said Assistant Fire Chief Robert Begley.

The Oak Hill Sheriff Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
