Fewer Americans getting screened for cancer

Researchers in Miami found the number of people who underwent preventive screenings during the last decade decreased significantly.

The study found people were not getting screened for breast, cervical and prostate cancer as often as the government said they should.

The only exception was colorectal cancer screenings.

The authors think rising health insurance costs and conflicting opinions about some of the guidelines may have lead to the decline.
