With the season of giving behind us, some may think they are more safe from intruders, but that may not be the case.

Sheriff's deputies in Raleigh County say your new flat screen TV may not be visible from the street, but thieves may not be looking through your window; deputies say they may be looking at your trash.

Deputies also say the reason could be to see the boxes from your big ticket items.

They suggest cutting up the boxes and putting them in trash bags for garbage crews, so thieves will not see the boxes from the new big ticket items you have.
