State officials are proposing raising various taxes, including those on cigarettes, in order to raise money to repair the damaged highways.
School in Giles County, Virginia will not start Wednesday.
Concerns about an online posting that mentions the school massacre in Connecticut is the reason why.
Virginia State Police troopers alerted county school officials about the posting and media reports state the county schools will be closed Wednesday, as a precaution.
The school superintendent says no specific threats have been made at any schools in the county.
The website causing the concern mentions Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., and "Narrows Schools."
The district includes schools in the town of Narrows.
