BECKLEY -

The signs the former Mountain State University in uptown Beckley changed with the coming of the new year, now University of Charleston is looking open their doors to the Beckley community.

UC-Beckley will host an open house on Tuesday, Jan. 8 in the library of the Learning Resource Center.  That is at 320 S. Kanawha Street.  The school is holding the event for the Beckley community and prospective students.

UC President Ed Welch, Area President Jerry Forster and other faculty and staff members will answer questions about UC-Beckley and introduce the school to the community. Admissions representatives will also be available to discuss what the University has to offer at it's four campuses in Beckley, Charleston, Martinsburg and online.  They will also help prospective students apply for the upcoming spring semester.

Meanwhile,  University of Charleston's mascot, MoHarv, will pose for photos with children of all ages.
