The United Way of the Greenbrier Valley is making moves to grow this year and to help with that they've hired a new full-time executive director.

Cindy Lavender-Bowe has been given the new title.

She is not new to the area, Lavender-Bowe previously worked at Carnegie Hall and organizes Lewisburg's Chocolate Festival.

She said the job is perfect for her because she loves giving back.

She said, "I'm passionate about that so it's the perfect opportunity for me to combine the difference I would like to make in the world with what I do on a career basis."

The United Way of the Greenbrier Valley services need in education, health, and income in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas Counties.
