BECKLEY -

The trial for a Vivek Shah, who is accused of trying to extort millions from a West Virginia coal executive was moved to February.

On Dec. 5, Shah was in a federal court in Beckley over a motion to fire his attorney.  That motion was granted, and Shah's new attorney, Mary Lou Newberger requested a postponement of the trial, which was granted.

59News reported on Dec. 11 that Shah's new trial was set for Feb. 25 in U.S. District Judge Irene Berger's courtroom.

Shah is accused of trying to extort $13 Million from mine owner Chris Cline.  Shah allegedly threatened to kill Cline's relatives if he did not pay.
