ALTA -

Sheriff's Deputies in Greenbrier county said an argument and alcohol lead to a deadly shooting in Alta on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Bryan Meadows, 25, was shot and killed in a fight that happened at around 7:30 p.m. with Anthony Lee Ramsey, 51, of Asbury.  Officials tell 59News that Ramsey was taken into custody on a murder charge at around 9 p.m.  Investigators said that the incident began with an argument.

Meadows had lived in Summers County before, but 59News was told that he had been living in Alta for the last few months.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the murder.  Ramsey is being held in the Southern Regional Jail without bond.

A second shooting in as many days remains under investigation in Greenbrier County.

Sheriff Jan Cahill tells 59News that a man was shot in the Alta area around 7:30 p.m.  Deputies said there was an altercation.  When they arrived on the scene, they found a man dead.  Deputies said they had a suspect in custody at 9 p.m.   There is no word at this time on what caused the fight.

The identities of the victim and the suspect have not been released at this time.
