ASBURY -

New details in a Greenbrier County shooting that left one man dead after an argument at his Asbury home.

The victim and his shooter were no strangers to each other.

George Boggess lives in the Asbury home, where his best friend 25-year-old Bryan Meadows was shot and killed.

One day after the shooting he said, "I'm still trying to grasp the fact that you know my best friend is gone and Tony killed him. Somebody that I thought was a friend and maybe he did fear for his life but you pick up the phone and call 911 you don't shoot somebody."

And the gunman, 51-year-old Tony Ramsey was no stranger to either of them.

Boggess said, "Tony was a supposed friend of the family. Supposed friend of the family."

A friend that Boggess said he never thought could do something like this.

He said, "For me to ever forgive Tony he would have to I guess feel threatened for his life and even then I don't think I could do it. I've known Tony as long as I've known Bryan. He helped my grandma when she was sick and dying, he helped my Aunt Brenda out here."

Boggess also said, "I don't know what happened. It would be very hard to have a good reason to just shoot somebody. Nobody should think that they can pick up a gun and decides who lives and dies."

Now alcohol is believed to be a factor in the murder.

And neighbors tell me they have seen the men drinking and using firearms in the past and they believe a love-triangle is to blame in the murder.

Now Boggess is left to cope with the loss.

He said, "He was like a brother to me."

Ramsey is currently being held without bond in Southern Regional Jail on murder charges.
