Area Kid Serving It Up On The Court

Posted: Updated:

Ram Asaithambi says he can't do much, but the six year old  is doing something most kids his age can't do-play tennis.

"I try to hit all the balls, but I miss it," he said. "I'm swinging it too fast and I can't do that much."

He's still a normal kid. Ram goes to school during the day, and then plays tennis twice a week. And like a normal kid, he's not a fan of the day gig.

"Don't tell me about it because I just go 'can I go home and play?'" He said.

Ram also plays basketball, baseball and soccer. His coach is Bud Vredeveld, Tennis Director at Glade Springs in Daniels.

"I don't want to push. I don't want him to get burnt out, so we're just going to take it one day at a time and see what happens," said Vredeveld, who's been teaching for 35 years.
