CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. (AP) -

Charles Town is taking teenagers charged with their first misdemeanor out of the court system.

Under a new Teen Court program, teens will be tried and prosecuted by their peers. An attorney will serve as the judge.

The Journal (http://bit.ly/VjIfdO ) reports that Charles Town's council approved the new program this week. It will be funded by a $5 fee added to traffic violations.
