LEWISBURG -

59 News is working for you to help make sure you do not fall victim to credit card fraud.

City Bank experts tell us there are a few simple things you can do everyday to prevent someone from getting ahold of your credit card information.

First, don't throw anything away with a card number on it.

Experts say there are black market business out there that will take real credit card numbers and turn them into a fraudulent card that looks like the real thing.

Barbara Phillips with City National Bank said, "You can have the card in your possession and still have charges against the card because someone has stolen your number. All they need is the number on the front, the expiration date, and the number on the back the security number."

Phillips also says you should sign the back of your cards because merchants are not supposed to accept cards without a signature on the back.
