The Pottery Place Studio has added a new location to its string of shops throughout the tri-state area.

Owner Laya Hutchison, has expanded her paint-your-own pottery business to Charleston's Southridge Shopping Center, building on her locations already in Huntington, Ashland and Beckley.

The studio provides all the materials a person needs to complete a project, including more than 300 pieces of bisque. The pottery is glazed and fired within the shop, so customers can retrieve their finished works of art in a week.

The Pottery Place hosts walk-in customers along with group events, such as field trips, church groups or birthday parties.

The South Charleston location opened Dec. 26, but the grand opening celebration will be from 1-7 p .m. Sunday, Jan. 13, and it will feature a tile-painting opportunity, free of cost and open to the public.

Visit thepotteryplace.biz for details about the studio and its hours.
