MERCER COUNTY -

The flu outbreak is getting more serious.  Almost all of the nation is now dealing with the flu. 47 states are reporting widespread flu activity.

We checked in with the Mercer County Health Department to find out what you should do if you get the flu.

"Don't got to work or school or day care just stay home and rest.  Use a fever reducer to control your fever and feel better. Make sure you are still eating and drinking you don't want to get dehydrated," Judy Bolton, Mercer Co. Public Health Nurse said.

Bolton adds outbreaks are especially prevalent inside Mercer County schools and nursing homes.

She said the same strain that's making people sick in the COUNTY - - is the same the entire nation is battling.

And its not too late to get a flu shot!
