CHARLESTON, WV -

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin will take the oath of office of Governor during inaugural ceremonies scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Jan. 14 at the South Plaza of the State Capitol.

Kanawha Boulevard will be closed to the traveling public from 5:30 a.m. until the conclusion of the inaugural ceremonies. California Avenue also will be blocked.

The inauguration theme is "West Virginia First," and the hour-long ceremonies will include musical performances by the 249th West Virginia Army National Guard Band, the Concert and Cantare Choirs of the Appalachian Children's Chorus and the Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus.

The 1st Battalion of the 201st Field Artillery will recognize Tomblin after his oath of office by firing a 3-gun salute.
