Where toddlers get a shot could make a difference

Toddlers who get vaccinations for diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis in their thigh muscles are less likely to wind up back in the doctor's office with vaccination side effects.

The most common side effect is a reaction at the injection site.

A new study in the journal pediatrics looked at about one and a half million children and found toddlers were half as likely to be brought back for medical attention if they had a shot in their leg compared to those who received one in their arm.
