McDowell County Sheriff's Office is cracking down on meth labs in War. 

An officer with the War Police Department discovered the lab at 59 William Poca Hill during the early morning hours of Monday, Jan. 14.  The officer called in sheriff's deputies and the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.

Investigators arrested Timothy Stone and Thomas Perkins, 34.  Stone is charged with operating a meth lab, child neglect creating risk of injury and felony conspiracy.  Perkins also faces a charges of operating a meth lab and felony conspiracy.

"Methamphetamine is a very dangerous and violate drug," said Sheriff Martin West.  " We want to pursue every lead hoping we can resolve the problem rising in this county.  I made a primes to the people of McDowell County to work on drugs and I intend to keep it."

Perkins and Stone were arraigned in front of Magistrate Steve Cox.  Perkins is being held on a $50,000 bond.  Stone's bond was set at $75,000.  Both men were taken to the McDowell County holding unit.  Perkins has since been transferred to the Southwestern Regional Jail in Logan County.
