UPDATE:

A person is dead after an incident near the Loveridge Preparation Plant, in Marion County, WV, a Consol rep confirms. Consol was contacted around 6:10 p.m. Monday by a surface drilling contractor. The deceased person was performing work "independent of Consol Energy."

State and federal agencies have been notified and are expected to arrive Tuesday.

ORIGINAL:

The Marion County 911 Center confirmed Monday night that fire, law enforcement and EMS services are at the scene at the Loveridge Mine in Fairview, Marion County. The Office of Emergency Management is also there.

According to the 911 center, the call came in around 6 p.m. for a "car accident on mine property". The Fairview Fire Department has confirmed that the incident involves a bulldozer. We've learned that the machine rolled down a hillside several times and that the worker was trapped beneath the 18,000-pound bulldozer.

Marion County 911 has confirmed that the medical examiner was called to the scene.
