BECKLEY -
An accident involving a tractor-trailer and an ambulance on Interstate 79 lead to the death of an Emergency Medical Technician from Wyoming County.
The accident happened in Lewis County in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 15. It closed both southbound lanes of the interstate while emergency responders worked to clean up the scene.
59News has confirmed that Mark Kinder, 26, of Wyoming County was injured in the accident. He later died of his injuries at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. The Jan-Care ambulance was returning to its station and there was no patient on-board.
A release from Jan-Care asked that members of the community keep Mark Kinder and his family in their thoughts and prayers.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Department and the WV State Police is investigating the accident.
