Parents, students and community members have the chance to name Kanawha County's newest school.

Officials from Kanawha County Schools are now accepting recommendations from the public for the naming of the new elementary school, located in the Edgewood area on the West Side of Charleston. A public meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Jan. 28 at Stonewall Jackson Middle School.

Those who can't attend the meeting can voice their opinions online. A link on the Kanawha County Schools website, kcs.kana.k12.wv.us, will be available to the public until Feb. 15.

The Kanawha County Board of Education will meet March 4 and make a decision on the name.
