BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (AP) —
Construction and renovations are continuing on a project to convert the
former United Hospital Center in Bridgeport into a behavioral health
facility.
According to a news release, the Highland-Clarksburg
Hospital has a $34.8 million construction loan to cover the renovation
costs. Work started Jan. 15.
The Charleston Gazette reports that the hospital was approved to operate a
150-bed facility that will employ 294 people.
The financing includes a loan from USDA Rural Development and permanent financing through Huntington National Bank.
