PRINCETON -

R.J. Anderson and Shawnee Carnett has been named West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference male and female Track Athletes of the Week, the league office announced Thursday.

Carnett, who has now won consecutive WVIAC Track Athlete of the Week awards this season, set school records in the 1,000-meter run (2:55.1) and in the 400-meter dash (57.87 seconds). Her 400-meters time narrowly missed the NCAA provisional qualifying standard. Carnett currently ranks fourth in NCAA Division II in the 800-meters with an NCAA provisional time of 2:14.95.

Anderson received the men's WVIAC Track Athlete of the Week award after a pair of strong performances at the Doug Raymond Invitational at Kent State on January 12. Anderson met the NCAA provisional qualifying standards in the 60-meter dash (6.85 seconds) and in the 200-meter dash (21.80 seconds). Anderson currently ranks 15th nationally in the 60-meters and 10th in the 200-meters.

Concord's men's and women's track & field teams were slotted fourth in their respective power rankings. Seton Hill was ranked first in the men's poll while Wheeling Jesuit took the top spots in the women's standings.

The Mountain Lions will send a full contingent of athletes to the Liberty Open Friday and Saturday.
