The bitterly cold weather put almost all counties in Southern West Virginia on a 2 hour delay this week except for today.
59 News caught up Mercer County Assistant Superintendent to see why.
"There's no magic number. When we get into single digits, that's the biggest indicator. Also we look at wind chill factor when they get into negative numbers. It's basically a judgement call," said Joe Turner.
Turner said student and staff safety is always their number one priority.
