The 59News team is working for you to bring you the most up to date information on what is happening in your town, your state and your world. Now the team has another new face to bring you the news each evening.
Sarah Pisciuneri is joining Marques White on the anchor desk for 59News at 5, 6, 10 and 11 p.m. The two are the latest faces continuing the legacy of news professionals that viewers have come to expect from 59News.
Pisciuneri is an Ohio/Pennsylvania native, who graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, where she majored in Broadcast Journalism.
From there, her career in TV news began in New York City. She was a News Assistant for NY1 News, the city's only 24-hour local news channel. Sarah worked side by side with reporters, shooting video and interviewing everyone from local and state politicians, to celebrities and of course, countless New Yorkers. From there she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where she covered all things racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway, as well as local government, health, education and her favorite; breaking news!
Sarah joins Marques, who viewers have come to know since he joined the 59News team in December. He lead viewers through the winter weather back up on Interstate 77, the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary and the gasoline explosion in Sissonville.
Marques came to 59News from KDKA in Pittsburgh where he was associate producer and later as a reporter/anchor in Topeka, Kan. He also spent some time at our sister station, WOWK in Charleston. Marques also spent some time at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. He earned his masters degree there.
You can watch Marques and Sarah together starting on Wednesday, Jan. 30
